What are you looking for?

We are looking for a talented and experienced programmer to join our team. Your main responsibilities will be developing interactive narrative games using programming languages and software tools such as Ren’Py. You will also be responsible for programming and scripting game mechanics, dialogue systems, and user interfaces that drive our visual novels.

Are deadlines super important?

Yes! Deadlines are one of the most important aspects of business regardless of what field you’re in. However, we do understand that life is unpredictable and you may need to miss a deadline. If you communicate with us a need for an extension we are more than willing to work with you. But if there is no communication and you’ve missed multiple deadlines than we would have to re-evaluate our agreements.

What is the pay rate?

Our pay rates vary from applicant to applicant and is primarily based off of experience. We do ask all applicants what their rates are, so that we know where to start.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement gameplay mechanics, dialogue systems, UI, and other game systems for our visual novels.
  • Collaborate with the writing, art, and sound teams to ensure that gameplay elements are integrated effectively into the overall experience.
  • Optimize game performance and ensure that the game runs smoothly on a variety of platforms.
  • Ensure code quality and maintainability through testing, debugging, and documentation
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions

REQUIREMENTS

*You must meet these requirements to be considered.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a game programmer, preferably in the visual novel industry.
  • Strong knowledge and experience programming in Python.
  • Familiarity with game engines such as Ren’py.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with the visual novel genre and a passion for gaming.
  • Must be comfortable working with NSFW material.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to commit to a five month or more development period.
  • Must be comfortable using Discord.
  • If meetings are held you must attend.
  • Must be 18 or older due to the nature of our content.
  • As an independent contractor you must complete a W9 or W8-BEN (non-US) tax forms.
